Canberra Company wins at National Export Awards
Canberra-based iSimulate took out the Education and Training category at last night’s Australian Export Awards ceremony, further demonstrating the strength of the ACT’s private sector in the international marketplace.
“Congratulations to iSimulate on this honour,” Canberra Business Chamber CEO, Robyn Hendry praised. “In recent years, Canberra Region exporters have really come into their own and despite the ACT being a relatively small jurisdiction, our private sector is most definitely punching above its weight.
“For example, the ACT is responsible for the export of 10 per cent of all Australian services in research and development, according to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics figures. That means one-tenth of all R&D services exported from Australia are generated by local businesses. That’s a pretty amazing achievement.
“In 2015, the value of goods and services exported from the ACT was $1.6 billion, up
16.2 per cent on the previous year.
“iSimulate and all the other Canberra Region firms who have successfully turned their sights overseas are driving that growth.”
iSimulate currently exports to 10 countries. It has developed iPad simulation technology to assist in the delivery of Advanced Life Support training to the medical field without the cost of expensive equipment. This technology enhances training by providing practical experience through simulated medical scenarios.
The 54th Australian Export Awards ceremony was held in Brisbane on 24th November 2016 before an audience of 500 guests.
